Best way to purchase stock for kid.?
I want to buy individual stocks for my 9yo daughter, outside of the 529. What’s the best way to do this?
I think it’s great that you’re starting off an investment nestegg for your daughter so early. Congratulations!
I’m a big advocate of value investing in the stock market (finding great companies to invest in, buying them at the right price, and only selling when the company gets overvalued…).
Value investing is (in my opinion) the best method for investing in the stock market, and works best when your investment time horizon is long. Starting a fund for your 9 year old daughter is the perfect opportunity to use value investing strategies…
I always think that individual investors should learn more about value investing, and there are a lot of great resources out there to learn the basics. I have some great books on my website (books by Benjamin Graham and on Warren Buffett…)
