Bonds For Dummies

what plans changed once you had your little one?
I am not pregnant yet but hopefully soon it will happen, but even so i still have a few plans for when me and my partner do have our first child.
breastfeed as much as possible but also pump so daddy can feed by bottle – i think it helps n the bonding and also he will eventually be a stay at home dad
use reusable nappies (diapers) – only use the disposable ones when we go away
try not to use a dummy and if i do only at sleep times
i am sure i will have others on my list as we try for our first. but for you that have just had your little one which of your plans have stuck and which went out the window?
I had all the same plans as you do, and the only one that went out the window was the dummy – he got his first one in the hospital and still loves them!
I still use cloth diapers – 8 1/2 months in, and he’s never worn a disposable. It’s not as hard as people like to make you think.
I planned to breastfeed for a year, but my son wasn’t on board with that plan. He self-weaned at 6 1/2 months, and I pumped for a another two months. Just now stopping because my supply is almost nil.
You’ll find that motherhood requires constant adaptation! Good luck!
